“When you have been sewing for as long as I have, you can have quite a collection of fabrics and it may sound completely mad, but I am loathe to cut some of them up! A few of you may know that feeling – it sits alongside the stroke-ability power of fabrics. Some fabrics you pull off the shelf and sit and pat or stroke, saying: ‘Isn’t that just beautiful’ and then you fold it up and put it back safely on its perch – in my case it’s my growing collection of Dutch fabrics.
