Paul Southwick takes a look at the new Garmin watch

How good is the latest Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro pilot watch? Is it worth upgrading from the D2 Mach 1? What does it cost? These are the three key questions people ask when they see it. As someone who has owned each iteration of the watch, I was keen to find out too. Courtesy of Garmin Australia, I had a month to test fly it.

First, the cost.of the sophistication, processing power, and capabilities of the watch. It is perhaps more accurately described as a powerful miniature computer. The Mach 1 Pro has a high resolution, crystal clear, multicolour, amoled, display, and almost every watch feature you could ever wish for, except teleporting (Star Trek style), across not just aviation, but life in general.
