You may have heard the terms ‘Old World’ and ‘New World’ when it comes to describing wine, perhaps in fussy restaurants with impossibly long wine lists and sommeliers who seemingly talk in another language (when all you really want on a Wednesday evening is a decent Sauvvy B or Cab Sav).
