Opened in 1920 and granted its ‘Royal’ charter a year later, Royal Queensland has hosted numerous important Australian golf events and has hosted many of the world’s best players, dating back to exhibition matches in the 1930s featuring legendary Americans Gene Sarazen and Walter Hagen.
