THE boy had taken the ball from her and arbitrarily changed the rules of the game in his favour. She was livid.
Aitana Bonmatí was just seven years old, but her fighting spirit was already clear for all to see.
“She argued with him because she didn’t understand why he’d done that and she was mad,” says the Spanish footballer’s dad, Vicent Conca.
“I don’t know where she got that competitiveness from,” he says with a chuckle.
“She aspires to the maximum. I worry that she doesn’t enjoy the process, the moment. Sometimes she is not satisfied with what she is achieving, it seems that she is always missing something more. She works for it.”
That hard work
