'Best ever' Battlefield winter gala draws in large crowds

MORE than 1000 visitors attended the Battlefield Line’s most successful winter gala to date on February 3/4 to welcome back a former resident after more than 42 years.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78018, whichwas then known as the Market Bosworth Railway for restoration. However, it was resold unrestored to the Darlington Railway Preservation Society (DRPS) in 1981 and moved to Darlington that July.
