The Great Central Railway’s first event of 2024 underlined for all time the double-track heritage line’s place not only in the sector, but also as a cornerstone of the local economy.
Each of the three days saw services filled to capacity, along with station platforms, car parks, and vantage points like the legendary Kinchley Lane overbridge – arguably the most popular photographic location in the UK heritagetrains including lengthy van and oil tanker workings alongside regular passenger services, and all of which could not fail but delight.
