With the recent release of Stephenson’s and the L&MR and locomotives firmly denoting. Built by George and Robert Stephenson in 1825, it became the first steam locomotive to work a passenger-carrying train on a public railway. It is believed to be the first locomotive to make use of coupling rods to link the driving wheels together.
