COMMUNITY SPIRIT

Mfuwe is my hometown, and is where I developed my passion for conservation and photography. While in secondary school, I visited Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust, which furthered my love for nature. Julie and Adam Bates — professional photographers from the UK — ran workshops there, and they mentored me and, together with Edward Selfe, helped me to start my photography business in 2019.

The town is in the chiefdom of Kakumbi, and is the main centre for seven chiefdoms, so it is a town for many people, from tribes across Zambia. It has one main road, running from Mfuwe Airport through some local
