NEW FILM ASSOCIATION CHAIRPERSON

Veteran actor Chen Daoming was elected chairperson of the China Film Association (CFA) at its 11th national congress on January 30.

Born in Tianjin in 1955, Chen began his acting career in the 1980s and has since become one of the most respected actors in the Chinese entertainment industry. He has received widespread recognition for his versatility and ability to portray complex characters with depth and authenticity.

He has appeared in several critically acclaimed films, including (1999), for which he won Best Actor at the 20th Golden Rooster Awards, one of the most prestigious film awards in China. Chen has also performed in television dramas, with his performance in (1988) further solidifying his reputation.
