Throughout the growing season, Lana and Justin’s sprawling garden in the Gold Coast hinterland is a kaleidoscope of pastel-pretty colour: roses in shades from pale pink to apricot, fragrant lavender and wisteria, vigorous paper daisies and scores of elegant gardenias. The effect is blissful, and the feeling of joy – as well as the exuberant use of natural colour – is echoed within the serene home the couple share with their four daughters.
The family’s previous home, across the Queensland border in Northern Rivers, NSW, had been a dream build in a new estate. But as the blocks filled,
