BEFORE YOU BUY
■ As a rule, a selection of saucepan sizes are required to cook a variety of dishes at once. Aim for a set that includes at least three pans (16, 18 and 20cm are best) for a good overall mix. Then after that, you may wish to invest in a larger stockpot for batch cooking or cooking pasta and a small 14cm milk pan, which is ideal for cooking custard, hot chocolate and more.
