abrielle Penfold has always been drawn to the female form. She prefers painting women – it is a fact she announces plainly early on in this interview. She lets her brush guide her across the valleys and curves of a woman's body, mapping out the kind of women she didn't witness in the art world growing up: voluptuous women, brown women, joyful women.
