Khiva, Uzbekistan
In March, the Silk Road city of Khiva dons the mantle of 2024 Tourist Capital of the Islamic World. It’s a great time to visit this storied city, not least because it’ll be linked to Bukhara and wider Uzbekistan by high-speed trains this year. Look out, too, for dance and food festivals in coming months.
