Which is cooler?
The original GSX-Rs, GSX1400s, DR650s, etc. were mostly air-cooled with an oil-cooling circuit for hot spots inside the engine. Suzuki then went to water-cooling as water transmits heat more effectively than oil. Water-cooled engines also were able to meet emission regulations more easily.
I’d only ever seen a fully oil-cooled diesel engine in a lighting tower – never previously in any sort of motorbike. I’d love it if you could find a Suzuki engineer to explain how they chose full oil-cooling for the Gixxer 250s and how they designed the engine to use it.

As with the original GSX-R’s Suzuki Advanced Cooling System (SACS), the Gixxer 250’s Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) was chosen to minimise weight as there’s no radiator and plumbing. SACS and SOCS are similar in that they
