About 20 years ago, the 230cc four-stroke was reborn. Yamaha and Honda made what was then known as the CRF230F and TT-R230, respectively. The CRF230F debuted in 2003 as a trailriding and recreational off-road machine. It ran a steel frame that housed a 37mm Showa fork with 240mm of wheel travel on the front and a Pro-Link Showa spring preload adjustable shock absorber with 230mm of travel on the rear.
The CRF230F used a single 240mm disc with a hydraulic calliper on the front and a drum braking unit on the rear. It was seen by many as an excellent alternative for riders not game enough
