Hawkish Bank of England officials opted to freeze interest rates at a 15-year high but new forecasts suggest inflation could fall below the 2 per cent target in a matter of months.
Policymakers at the central bank voted to keep interest rates at 5.25 per cent for the fourth consecutive time on Thursday despite inflation trending downwards.
