For years writer Truman Capote sat at his typewriter trying to finish his new novel, which he deemed was going to be his magnum opus.
“The novel is called Answered Prayers, and if all goes well, I think it will answer mine,” Truman wrote to his publisher Random House in 1958.
Thinly veiled as fiction, the story was based on a coterie of elite
