Midwinter musings

HERE IS an ancient tradition of having a big fire with a big feast and lots of raucous fun at midwinter, to drive away the dark and call back the sun. I could do with a bit of this right now. There’s 18 hours of darkness here at the winter solstice and it has been wet for months, so outside work has been halted for ages; worse, it’s been weeks and weeks since my last yarn show. So
