TROPHY WALTHER PPK SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED

he Walther PPK is, in the scheme of things, a very influential pistol. Not only was it the choice of various iterations of James Bond, but it also served military and police organizations for decades after it made its first appearance in the 1930s. The PPK, or (Criminal Police Pistol), was designed to be small and concealable. It was marketed to police who needed to keep it concealed or those who wanted a smaller, handier pistol. It differed rather significantly from 08 or Luger. It’s sometimes argued that the PPK was the first intentionally designed concealed carry pistol, but this is highly debatable considering the significant number of smaller pistols available beforehand. If one adds the filter “for police use” the claim is better founded. At the time of the PPK’s release, Germany had suffered from considerable political violence, and there was a plethora of small pocket pistols on the market for self-defense.
