A NEW DIRECTION

FACTFILE

NAME: Brunswick Yard

SCALE/GAUGE: 4mm:1ft/16.5mm/OO

SIZE: 12ft × 1ft

ERA/REGION: 2010 to date, somewhere in the UK Midlands

LAYOUT TYPE: End to end

The idea for ‘Brunswick Yard’ was developed in our old group meeting rooms above The Brunswick pub in Derby, hence the name.

The layout design and location is fictitious and the concept is a main line (off scene) feeding a wagon repair works (off scene opposite end), with stabling sidings for wagons/coaches awaiting repair or post-repair. It also has a light maintenance shed for stabling and maintaining locomotives.

‘Brunswick Yard’ could be described as “the layout that was built twice”
