Uproar over student accommodation

concerns over noise, crime and infrastructure

WORK on a property in Reservoir Hills has raised the ire of residents who claim it has been earmarked for student accommodation.

They claim they had not been consulted about the development in Manton Crescent, and were concerned about the impact of the already strained infrastructure in the area, and having “rowdy” students living on the property.

However, the property owner has lashed back, saying that all the necessary municipal processes had been followed for the student accommodation.

A resident, who declined to be named, said this was not the first time construction was done on the property.
