01 Find your fit
● If you can’t try before you buy, study the sizing charts extensively as the sizing of our helmets on test varied between brands (MET helmets are well known for coming up small, for example). The cradle, or retention system, secures the helmet onto your head and should be easy to adjust on the move. A dial and ratchet is currently the most common system on mid-range helmets (budget options can have a buckle), but ensure it sits neatly against the back of your skull.
