■ The original game ended with Rick returning to London following his globetrotting adventure – only to find that invading aliens and other sci-fi serials, the 1990 sequel saw Rick ditch his Indy garb for a spandex suit and laser zapper. The main difference was that his explosives had been upgraded and it was now possible to slide them along the floor, adding an extra dimension to many of the game’s puzzles. Elsewhere it was largely the same as before. Yes, there were still a billion ways to die, but the difficulty curve was smoother and it felt slightly fairer. It was bigger too, with five stages instead of four, plus lots of secret areas, and this time the 8-bit versions received the full fat stages.
