UK minister condemns Netanyahu’s ‘disappointing’ rejection of a Palestinian state
The defence secretary has condemned comments by Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting the idea of Palestinian statehood.
Grant Shapps said the government remains “wedded” to the idea of a two-state solution, arguing that there is no other option.
The British government has largely resisted criticising Israel since Mr Netanyahu instructed his military to launch strikes on , which are reported to have killed more than attack.
