    Prince Mateen’s eye-popping 10-day wedding

    IT’S been hailed as the wedding of the decade in Asia – and for good reason. Brunei’s leader, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, spared no expense for the nuptials of his son, Prince Abdul Mateen.

    The ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman Palace, the sultan’s official residence in Brunei and the world’s largest residential palace.

    The lavish affair lasted 10 days and involved 5 000 guests, including royalty from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Bhutan.
