Colne Valley instigates winter clear-out of surplus stock

THE Colne Valley Railway has begun a large disposal of surplus assets following a review of its collection and requirements, with a mix of rare and highly sought-after vehicles made available.

The first items, which was built for the Bombay Harbour Improvement Trust before later being acquired by Rugby Portland Cement, which employed it at the Barrington Cement Works in Cambridgeshire. It has not run for many years, requiring a full overhaul.
