In the previous issue, we talked about the materials and tools that can be used to create a scratchboard piece. The variety of tools available is exciting as it gives you the chance to experiment and find tools to use that weren’t ever intended for scratchboard. For example, my favourite tools are tattoo needles, which it’s safe to say were never intended to be used in scratchboard. When I started experimenting with scratchboard tools, it was a bit overwhelming. I therefore have decided to show you that all you really need to create a scratchboard image is a craft knife, despite the array of tools available.
