InterTech IT1600 front loader: Half the price, half as good?

When the owner of the restored 1986 Case IH 844XL tractor gracing these pages started to shop around for a suitable front loader, he found there was a very limited choice of second-hand booms. And what was available seemed overpriced, especially as many of the examples had been visited with a welder or had sloppy pivot points.

After a bit of a head scratch he came to the decision to invest in a brand spanking new boom, brackets and the various hydraulic accompaniments. Ticking the boxes was the short arm version of the InterTech IT1600, which was duly ordered in 2020 from D&D Landtechnika in Poland.
