The Kingdom of Saxony was created by France in 1806, and it was a part of the Confederation of the Rhine, which was formed to supply troops for Napoleon’s armies. When Napoleon was defeated at the Battle of Leipzig in October 1813, the Confederation of the Rhine dissolved, and Saxony lost two thirds of its territory
