IS BIGGER ALWAYS BETTER?

Hi John,

I am a long-time reader of Caravan World and try to read each month's issue. While examining the new vans on offer, I have noted that mid-sized vans and many of the larger units are getting substantially heavier. My new 21ft Jayco in 2018 came in with an ATM of 2450kg and my current Bailey Rangefinder 22.5ft is less at 2200kg. Similar new vans with all the tech and gadgets are more like 3500kg and two vans reviewed in issue 642 are around 4500kg. These are not criticisms but merely observed facts about some builds.
