Broos happy with ‘local is lekker’ formula for Bafana’s Afcon squad

COMMENT

BAFANA Bafana coach Hugo Broos has drawn his Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) squad essentially from local teams and is not disheartened by the absence of key players such as Burnley FC’s Lyle Foster and France-based Lebo Mothiba.

Broos has made peace with the Foster dilemma, even though the striker is happily plying his trade in the Premiership and scored against Aston Villa last Saturday when he played for 90 minutes.
