Test: Steinberg Cubase Pro 13

For many years, Cubase has been the first choice for many musicians and producers worldwide for composing, recording, editing and mixing. Version 13 of this DAW is once again available in three versions: Pro, Artist and Elements [1]. At the heart of the update is the redesigned mixer, which catches your eye at first glance. Cubase 13 also comes with five new effect plug-ins and an extensive Orchestral Library. Of course, the usual detail improvements and workflow optimizations are also included.

The wild 13!

Even during the first test flight with Cubase 13, it is noticeable that projects can be loaded and closed more quickly. When you close a project, the plugins are immediately unloaded from memory. This means that crashes when closing large projects aremixing console and even the order of the modules can be customized. A click on the equalizer or a channel strip module of a channel opens a corresponding pop-up window. This allows you to make adjustments quickly and easily without having to open the corresponding channel settings. Mono tracks can be converted to stereo tracks with just one click.
