With the climate crisis at the forefront of the collective conversation—no more so than in Bangladesh, a (2017) is centered around a cast of children and interweaves play, poetry, and local myths with the legacy of communism on rural Vietnam. Bhasha Chakrabarti’s large-scale, mixed-media installation made of braided saris, (2022–23), connected women’s labor with the jute, a material central to the country’s economy and daily life.
