A spirited fling

In a spirited fusion, the fourth edition of emerges as the lovechild of Breckenridge where barrels tell the story. The distillery’s bourbon whiskey barrels are used to age the brewery’s Sexy Motor Oil Imperial Stout—a complex beer boasting a grain bill of rye barley, roasted barley, double-roasted crystal malt, chocolate malt, and oatmeal. When these barrels return to the Distillery, seasoned with the stout’s rich character, they’re refilled with bourbon whiskey and left to rest for over a year. The result? A coveted blended whiskey with a flavor tapestry of tropical banana, apple, floral dark chocolate, and honey. The finale is a lingering note of chocolate-covered dried currant, cacao, and cinnamon spice, all cradled in matured oak. The extremely limited edition bottles drop at 11 a.m. on Feb. 14, 2024, at Breckenridge Distillery’s two locations in its namesake town.
