Delete 2FA verification codes automatically
One of the main downsides to using two-factor authentication (2FA) for your online accounts is that your text-messaging app becomes cluttered with verification codes. Also called one-time passwords or passcodes (OTPs), these are sent to your phone by the website or app you’re trying to sign into, and expire once you enter them or after a set time.
Google’s Messages app for Android (tinyurl.com/APC5282FA) lets you prevent your SMS inbox from getting clogged up with expired OTPs by deleting these messages automatically after 24 hours. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the Messages app and choose ‘Messages settings’. Select ‘Message organisation’ and switch on ‘Auto-delete OTPs after 24 hrs’.
