Mary Earps, Kevin Sinfield and Stuart Broad among sports stars on 2024 new year honours list

The extraordinary charity work of Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow has been recognised in the new year honours list alongside three of England’s Women’s World Cup football stars.

Sinfield and Burrow, who were Leeds Rhinos teammates during trophy-laden rugby league careers, have received CBEs for services to motor neurone disease (MND) awareness.

, Mary Earps and have also been honoured for their part in helping the Lionesses reach the World Cup final in the summer.
