Life on a boat in the tropics is hot and sweaty. Many of our liveaboard friends who sail worldwide are catamaran owners. They tend to have onboard luxuries like air conditioning gently cooling their cabins; two or more bathrooms with full-sized shower cubicles; and large freshwater tanks and water-maker systems.

As I’ve mentioned before, our setup is not quite so flash. Our boat is very well ventilated but naturally so and don’t even think about taking a shower inside one
