What A three-bed single-storey house

Fate lent a hand when Susan and John Shearer began thinking about where they’d like to live once they retired. They’d switched on the TV one evening at home in Grantown-on-Spey to see an unusual new house being built on the shores of remote Loch Eriboll in Sutherland. It had a curved copper roof and sat on stilts, and was designed for an artist, the Danish ceramicist Lotte Glob. Everything about it appealed to the couple – so much so that they were inspired to consider building their own home.
