Lyrics by Scotland’s finest band, Del Amitri. I doubt they were singing about the state of rugby administration, but by God they could be. Rugby is in deep crisis in almost all its competitions, treasuries and practices. It is being strangled horribly by its own systems and committees.

If rugby does not act soon it is doomed to exist in semi-obscurity amongst the sports in the lower second division. If that. It must reinvent the way it is run, from top to bottom. Now. But nothing ever happens. No one appears to reimagine rugby as it could be because they are looking through the prism of what it is. Moribund.
