Researching French horn repertoire for our forthcoming Podcast series led me to the wonderful playing of Yun Zeng, winner of the 2019 Tchaikovsky Competition and the Berlin Philharmonic’s recently appointed principal horn. YouTube has a beautiful from Glière’s Horn Concerto in the competition final – his rich, buttery sound soaring over the orchestral forces. No wonder he’s been snapped up by the Berlin ensemble!
