IF 2023 is to be remembered as the year that delivered most of what were considered the sport’s most essential fights, there may also come a time when those fights are ultimately reflected on as unexpectedly one-sided.

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, Naoya Inoue, Terence Crawford and, most recently, Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez close to eased to victory in what could prove the defining fights of what are likely to become Hall of Fame careers. Ryan Garcia, Stephen Fulton, Errol Spence and Sunny Edwards were those who not only lost for the first time but were stopped.
