If you saw the name of Call of Duty’s latest war-fest and thought it sounded familiar, that’s because it is. Modern Warfare III is a reimagining of a 12-year-old game, updated for today’s graphical expectations and geopolitical realities.
It puts you back in the boots of Task Force 141 as terrorists attempt to – but there are new open missions that theoretically allow you to tackle your objectives in any way you fancy. In practice, however, they fall far short. Most task you with blowing something up – the only real decision is how – and end by jumping to a helicopter, finding a well-placed lift or climbing a ladder. This gets tedious, fast.
