Family roots

When I think about my grandmother, Nombulelo Binase, I'm flooded with memories of the magical world she wove through the tapestry of food. Our rural home in eMthini, eMachubeni at Lady Frere in the Eastern Cape was a sanctuary. I was her trusted sous chef, her eager apprentice, and it was amid comforting aromas and the clattering of pots and pans that our food journey together began.
