SILVERADO REAR DISC SWAP
Q: Your Swap Meet column is one of the first that I read. My project is upgrading a 1996 Chevy truck with rear drum brakes to a disc-brake axle. The VIN tells me the current drum axle has a 3.73:1 ratio limited-slip differential with a 10.5-inch ring gear. This axle is rated at 8,600 lbs. I hope you can give us some suggestions that will help us get this accomplished. Thanks.
