RACE CHAT Warren Wilkinson – Wilkinson Racing

BSSO

After a couple of years away from racing, Warren Wilkinson created a new set of riders in the Wilkinson Racing team for 2023. No mean feat when you are a business owner, tuner, builder of the bikes and a rider too. The Wilkinson racing machines are super well prepared and with multiple machines across the grid they have been a force to be reckoned with, often dominating proceedings. With that in mind a trip to his Cleckheaton base and a chat with Warren was in order to understand what is behind this level of success.

Warren has built a name for himself in tuning automatic engines, and started racing a few years ago after picking up engineering skills from his dad, who is a trained mechanic. Aside from the family influence, Warren has taught himself a lot. Just looking at his machines and preparation reveals an obsession with the finer points – and as far as I am concerned the Wilkinson fleet are the best-prepared machines on the grid every time. Attention to detail is incredible, even down to logos on Allen screws matching and all lining up.

This level of detail will obviously contribute to racing success and will help top riders show their skills, so let’s delve a little deeper into the team.
