WHAT’S A DANDELION, MISS?

A new report, Sowing the seeds: A blooming English horticultural sector, published by the cross-party House of Lords Horticultural Sector Committee, says that the £5 billion industry is “too frequently overlooked by policymakers”.

The lack of horticulture in educationa survey completed in 2019 of 1000 children between the ages of five and 16 showed that 82% could not identify an oak tree, 50% could not identify a bluebell and 42% did not recognise a dandelion.”
