Cage & Aviary Birds

The 10-step path for Bengalese

BENGALESE

AT EASTER this year, while setting a pair of nice dilutes (a dark dilute fawn & white hen with a dilute fawn-grey and white), I considered my objectives. Below I have recorded the relevant steps required in order to come to a successful conclusion, with reaching step 8 being of key importance.

Hen to lay first egg.  Hen to lay a clutch of five or more eggs.  Eggs to show fertility.  Some eggs to hatch.  Chicks to live for more than 24 hours. Chicks reach closed-ringing age.  Chicks become independent.  Chicks are of good quality.  Chicks are shown.  Chicks have show success.
