TREKKING through Nepal looking for tigers in the jungle was always going to be memorable but perhaps not in the way artist Paul Doyle expected. “We were three or four days from civilisation when I got very ill and went downhill until eventually I thought I was nearly dying, and found myself having an out-of-body experience. I was looking down at my body lying there, and I realised I had to keep going with my art and that painting dogs was going to be important.
