Femi Kayode has always had a day job, for as long as he’s been writing.
‘Even in university, I studied during the day and wrote plays at night,’ he says. ‘So, in a way, I’ve always been structured regarding how I make time for writing. I try to be in bed by 9pm and set my alarm for 3:30 am. To be fully present in the writing process, and declutter my mind from the stress of working in advertising, I need at least six hours sleep.
